Janet Wise

JJanetanet is the keyboardist and vocalist for Slapdash Quartet. She has toured nationally as a singer with Lost and Found and has also worked for 13 years as a church musician. She studied voice with Carol Marty of Capital University and Virginia Cameron of Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Janet also studied piano with Diane Bish at MVNU and Diane Frazier-Cross at Capital. She teaches both piano and voice at her home studio, performs with the big band Swing’s the Thing and plays for weddings, school musicals and in inspirational programs throughout Ohio. Michael Ebner

MichaelMike started playing bass at the age of 12.  A veteran of the Columbus music scene, he has performed with Sixfoot Blonde, http://sixfootblondeband.com/, Endless Recess, http://www.endlessrecess.com/, Swing’s The Thing Big Band, Rick Brunetto Big Band, Mimi Rousseau, Chip Vivian, Ashley Everts, Best of Seven, Doubleplay, 33:3, the Denison University Jazz Band, and many others.  He studied bass with Cornell Wiley (Bob Allen Trio) at Capital University and continued his studies with Dr. Mark Morton (Columbus Symphony Orchestra) at the American School of Double Bass.   Mike plays a Pedulla Rapture 5-string bass and a NS Design Electric Upright Bass, and he also uses Fender and MusicMan instruments.  He uses Aguilar and Markbass amplification systems.

 

Ken Carley

KennethKen has been playing the drum kit since the age of nine. He has played and recorded with numerous club bands in Columbus, including Willy Phoenix, Voices of Winter, 33:3 and Best of Seven. Ken also performed with the Columbus-based theater company, Shadow Productions in original contemporary operas. He studied jazz through programs Capital University and holds a B.S. degree from the Ohio State University. Ken also has completed a recording engineering program at the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio. He lives in Athens with his wife Shannon. You can contact him directly at Ken.

 

Tony Kertis

TonyTony has been playing saxophones for over 35 years. He has played various styles of music from Jazz to rock with numerous bands, performing along the Maine coast and in the Columbus area since relocating from Maine in 1997.
